LA VISTA, Neb. -- The owner of the first Chinese business to locate in Nebraska said the states central location and its people compelled him to choose the Cornhusker state.

The business, EasyWay International Freight Company, will rent space in the La Vista Business Park, becoming Pay Pals neighbor. "Based on what I see, what I heard, I know that Nebraska is an ideal location for EasyWay international headquarters," said company owner Wenliang Xu.

Through an interpreter, Xu said he first considered locating the business to Canada. But when Nebraska sent a business delegation to China, and then invited Xu back to the state, he was hooked.
"I returned to China with a very favorable impression of Nebraska," Xu said.
From Nebraskas central location, the companys trucks can make it to most U.S. destinations within two days.
"Nebraska people are very friendly, sincere, hardworking, dedicated, and we know our future employees here in Nebraska are what will make us successful," he told a crowd of business people Monday.
Xu said hell start with a $1 million investment and hire 15 employees. Next year, hell invest $3 million and hire 30 employees, he said.
Gov. Dave Heineman said thats just the beginning.
"Were prepared to make a partnership for a lifetime, not a partnership for a day, which I often see in other states -- theyre there for the ribbon cutting and thats it. Ours is a partnership for a lifetime," Heineman said.
Xu is starting small but eventually plans to build a warehouse and buy trucks.
The company is just the first to announce intentions to locate to Nebraska. La Vistas mayor said hell have another announcement in the next 60 days.
